Watching Glastonbury on the Beeb last night I heard 'Daniel' by Bat for Lashes. It was so good I went and downloaded the album off Amazon and have been listening to it most of today.

Her voice is mesmerising and the lyrics are superb. I hadn't realised they were so popular. If you've yet to listen, try linky:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00ZHah-c0hQ

Daniel is a good song. Was watching the vid on you tube about an hour ago. Been meaning to get some of their stuff.

'What's a girl to do' has quite a good video aswell.

Just looked them (or is it just 'her'?) up on Spotify and it's pretty good, will probably shell out for the latest album.

Pearl's Dream is one of my favourites so far.

Out of all the "newer" acts on show there, I thought that she was the only one who could genuinely sing. The vocals were really no different to the album - actual real talent for once!

Alongside her fantastic drummer, who spotted Charlotte Hatherly (ex Ash) playing guitar?.

+1 yes regarding Charlotte Hatherly but only because of Mark Radcliffe mentioning it afterwards. hehe

Actually I've changed my mind, 'Glass' is even better.

Look it up, hauntingly beautiful smile

The first album is brilliant too, the best track so far has to be 'Prescilla'

Saw them when they supported Raiohead last year, bought the album off the back of that and thought them jolly good indeed.

Daniel is a cracking tune. I have the Two Suns and Fur and Gold albums. I like the tracks for their easy listening and sort of folky character but wouldn't sit and listen to it all the way through.

Daniel on the other hand is a superb track, just enough crossover into pop with those overly boosted bright vox that remind me of Fleetwood Mac around the pop / Tango in the Night era.

Awesome track, in fact, it's playing now...! thumbup

Um, I believe you may be intending to refer to the girl from La Roux?

rofl

The getmecoat was supposed to be ironic, but it turned out to be entirely appropriate. You're quite right, I meant t'other one.
