In no particular order:
Frank Zappa - mind melting technical genius
Roddy Frame - my dad got me started playing lounge jazz (albeit badly) when I was 9. Roddy Frame's music showed me how to use the chords and how to structure songs!
Django Reinhardt - better with 2 fingers than I'll ever be with 5 (ooer missus)
Tom Morello - for me, took rythmn guitar to a whole new level and his lead licks are handy too
John Frusciante - the guitarist who I sounded most like when I played in a band of my own - the only difference is he's successful!
Cheers

Shoot me in the head with a massive gun, but for some strange reason I've never listened to Zappa properly, where would be a good place to start? There are too many
