From the new Gaslight Anthem album 'Get hurt'

I Adore the Gaslight Anthem. All four of their albums are great.
Not given the album a full listen yet but the few tracks I have heard are great. Brilliant band, saw them live on my own as none of my mates are fans of their work.

Edwin Hawkins Singers - Oh Happy Day

because my eldest son has got into Newcastle University. Truly the gods are looking down on us today; the effort (not by him) to get him through school (we took him out for a gap year after GCSEs) has been very considerable and I thought I would be spending today battling through the UCCAS clearing system.

As it is Phil Lynott's birthday today something from Thin Lizzy is appropriate. Don't Believe A Word.

Today I will mostly be listening to 'Touched by the hand of God' by New Order after being reminded of it on TV last night.
Their best effort I think. spin

Wasn't sure about it upon first impressions but it's grown on me like a ravenous mutant tumour. Good album, red violins is a personal favorite and have mercy is just such a beautiful song.

Not a single song, but this set from Above and Beyond is fantastic. I remember bits of it, so thank god someone filmed it!! If you love A+B's music, or hands in the air trance then this will be for you.

Marc Riley played this the other night: King - Baby Sign Here with Me from 1978.

Had this recorded on a cassette from a John Peel session at the time but hadn't heard it in many, many years. cool
