If like me, you have been on the lookout for a CD copy of Napalm Deaths Peels Sessions tape (I played my tape to death) then this may interest you... Also has lots from Bolthrower, Extreme Noise Terror and a few others...

Sadly long gone are the days when you could hear grindcore and death metal on radio 1.

Is that the "Grind Madness at the BBC" CD? Been listening to that on Spotify and it's fantastic. I'm struggling to think of anything since that can top the original Napalm Death Peel Sessions. Sure, there's stuff that's faster and heavier these days, but those recordings are simply ferocious. Nice to hear the old Carcass stuff as well. Still got a soft spot for Symphonies of Sickness. Now if only they could unearth the Doctor and the Crippens and the Agathocles sessions, I'd be a happy bunny.

More than you can know. Thank you sir. Now to work out shipping to Aus. Just on my iPhone and can't see an Amazon option for this, but will investigate tomorrow.

Again, thank you.

^This. I am enjoying this so much. Not that keen on the ENT/Carcass stuff any more, it seems a but puerile, but the Napalm death is astonishing. from track 23 onwards particularly. I played the Walls/Raging In Hell/Conform or Die/SOB to death as a yoof and am now doing the same again.

Does anyone know, on the begining of 'Deceiver' he says 'something something something John Peel' - anyone know what it is? Again, as a yoof I spent a lot of time trying to work this out.

Ferocious is right. And somehow doesn't sound as silly as a lot of growly music, it just works so well. As John said on my original tape recording; 'Quality stuff throughout'.

The Intense Degree stuff well worth a mention too.

I can't make out what he says either, but I'm guessing its along the lines of thaking him, recognition of his support. They damned well should do!

As for the recording, its one of those rare pieces that capture the raw nature of the music whilst till having high production standards. If you take Smash by Offspring, its a great CD, awesome in fact, but to me, it doesn't sound raw, it sounds slightly poorly produced. Very few recordings pull off the raw and well produced combo - Nobodys Perfect by Deep Purple, Live and Dangerous by Thin Lizzy, Reign in Blood, Kill 'em all to name an obvious few. All imho of course!

I'd misplaced this CD, and a series of events led to a very happy Google yesterday.

I was clearing a few things up and found my old SCUM T-shirt that a girlfriend sent me from Switzerland years ago, so put that on.

I've got a new daily so my 928 hasn't been run up for a few weeks so I thought it was time to take it out.

I found a CD case in the car and in there was the Napalm Death CD.

So I'm driving around in Sydney in my 928, marveling at how great it sounds, goes & looks, in my ND T-Shirt, blasting the Peel Sessions, vaping my vape.

I was very conscious that had an 18 year old Google seen this snapshot of the future, he'd have been very impressed.

Then I loaded it up into the fantastic stacker in the new car, poured a vodka and sat belting it out for half an hour, then again on the way to work this morning. So much energy...
