Huge fan of cult of Luna! Will be checking that out pronto.
Soooooo, Mariner is excellent. My only dissappointment is that when I saw Cult of Luna on Saturday night, Julie Christmas wasn't there. Tremendous gig though, sound in The Garage was tremendous. There were 7 of them on stage! Two drummers.

Really? It's got 40 seconds of half decent riff at the end. The rest is so nondescript that I can't even conjour up any other words to describe it. I guess it's just me!

hoses for courses and all that....i tend to constantly go after the odd time signature/ weird chord progression stuff....but sometimes something really simple and almost...expected....can work a treat. love it!!

I'm in the mood for some female fronted heaviness. Any suggestions?

Bands that come to mind:

Acid King
Made out of Babies

and that's about it!

Any mention of Arch Enemy or Lacuna Coil will be ignored.
Not entirely sure what you're looking for, but I quite like SubRosa, or at least this album:

SubRosa - No Help for the Mighty Ones

Not a million miles off, I hope.

Have been working my way through a playlist. So far:

Sky Valley Mistress - Excellent
Wounded Kings - Good so far
Black Moth - Excellent
Walls of Jericho - Not really digging it
Marmozetes - Undecided, but not blown away

Also remembered that I really like Obscure Sphinx:

Will check out your suggestion. Thanks to all!

New Lawnmower Deth! Premiered on Radio 2. The world has gone mad! 1:43 mark :-

Not to be taken remotely seriously, obviously, just a great deal of fun, and probably a great many bemused Simon Mayo listeners.

I think this will be a big pit anthem for them.

Interesting wee documentary about heavy music promotion in Edinburgh. Likely to be recognisable to anyone involved in underground music anywhere really though.

New Katatonia. Streaming here.
Can't get enough of this. Love the synth, guitar tone and the chord changes.

Only just realised that The Great Southern Trendkill was 20yrs old this weekend gone eek

Where did all those years go?! Ranks as one of my all time favourite albums, along with Cowboys, and much underrated imo.

Dunno if this band, Lizzard, is heavy enough to qualify for this thread but I like them spotify:artist:3y8vqcADc0jrZGhRDRGs1f. Anglo-French band with a lass on drums, going to see them in Toulouse 20th.
