Having somehow found myself listening to Deeds of Flesh (deliberately!), needed to detoxify with something that wasn't just endless blasting, slams and songs about aliens..

Chaos Divine

May even be Tuscaneer friendly smile
fkin he'll pal,it's not often we're very nearly on the same page but that's quite good!!!....The clean vocal segments are superb!

New Thrawsunblat is out. Only had a brief listen thus far, but already sounds excellent. Really nice atmosphere to it.

Having mentioned Nonsense Premonition, thought I'd link to a track. I find tech death very hit and miss generally, but really enjoy this when I'm in the mood.

Psychotic Pulse popped up on No Clean Singing, and sounded pretty good, in a djenty sort of way.

Quite like the vocals on that. Makes a change from the usual passionless growling. I can believe in the anger far more.

The other one I've been enjoying was "Nonsense Premonition", but they're a Columbian tech death band, so doubt we'd even be in the same library on that, let alone the same page smile

I must admit I am getting into vaguely proggier waters of late, as long as there's still a degree of heft to it. Anciients are the main pleasure at the moment. Also been enjoying what I've heard of the new Gojira, and looking back at the early days of this very thread, who'd ever have imagined that?!
Gojira!!! For you !!! Wow mate, didn't expect that!!!....mind you,I think we're all a bit off kilter..... I've spent the afternoon trying to perfect some acoustic compositions then listening to Depeche mode ,Jeff buckley and flamenco ace vicente amigo's new material. Quite an eclectic few hours!!laugh

I know, most odd! For want of a better answer, finding the new stuff a bit more "human" than their previous stuff, which always felt overly mechanical and precise.

Have you tried the new one yet? I like the vibe but it's maybe a touch simple. Think it's a grower though. Mars to Sirius is king though!

Feel like I'm spamming this thread at the minute. Anyone heard the new Black Crown Initiate?

If you've not head them, try the EP. It's fantastic.

watched some of download on sky arts - my times have changed.

it would appear that the trend is for de-tuned guitars, growled vocals and cross-over skater rock.....

i'm getting old as I fast forwarded most of it. Even the two choices of maiden tracks to show could have been better....

TesseracT are an interesting band - when I listen to them I love their sound but I find all their song blur into one very similar song.

Ignoring that they put on an excellent performance. They were extremely tight and each member was supremely skilled. They certainly djent.

I'm heading along, I get to meet a lot of friends I rarely see at, and sentimental reasons, I got engaged at last years !

Keen to see Ne Obliviscaris again, they are good at hellfest last year but sure an indoor gig will be better

Tesseract have some amazing moments but the vocals kill it for me. Tremendous players though and Jay Postones always like a really nice bloke.

Honestly when i looked at download, the main band that tempted me was Glassjaw, but a combination of it being on Friday and Glassjaw not really being a festival band swung it for me to a no. Would have been cool to see Sabbath, Milk Teeth, Danko Jones, Deftones and Electric Wizard, but that leaves an awful lot of time with no bands i'd really want to see.
