Going back to some of the "djenty" stuff I found I enjoyed earlier in the thread (damn you Tuscaneer!), Encircle have put some rough mixes of new tracks online.

Liking that.

ETA - another one I suspect Tuscaneer will enjoy is Bendthesky. Keyboards add a nice extra layer for me.

Ok, very poor but I've finally got round to getting L'Enfant Sauvage and after listening to it non-stop I reckon it tops Mars.... redface Seriously, on first listen I thought meh but then it starts really getting under your skin.

Personally speaking, this contains the best song they've ever written - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3p6YTCTJ5o

Off to hide back in my cave now... wink

Bit of a break from some of the stuff on here, but lest anyone forget about how fking awesome Tool are!

Just read online there are rumours of a new album being completed by the end of this year. Just listening to 10,000 days - not as good as Lateralus but still a great listen.

Nothing beats this though:

I know I brought up Fear Factory a few weeks ago but having seen them last Sunday I'm bringing them up again. They were awesome, such a great gig no barriers no stage security. Only a couple of feet from the band, Demanufacture live was just awesome. Also fair play to playing such a long set in the hottest, smokiest venue I've ever been in.

I'm in that weird Black Metal part of YouTube again smile

Serpent Noir

Guessed Greek or South American when I heard that, and it was indeed the former. Pretty decent.

Indeed it is. Blue is probably my most listened to album over the past 12 months.

liking both of those fella, particularly that encircle.i like the guitars to mix up the choking and open 3's and 4's on the riff lines.as the guy posted himself though, the high end cymbals sound a bit poo.
bend the sky sound great with the keyboard layers i agree

Weird set of circumstances for these tunes. I went along to have a go at archery yesterday and got chatting to the instructor afterwards. He talked about being in various metal bands, and turns out he's played bass for the likes of VOD, Pagan Altar, Demoniac and Dragonforce! VOD were an obscure South African death metal band, so he was amazed when I said I'd heard of them and have some of their stuff from my tape trading days. Then had a cool conversation about old school death metal and South African grindcore (which means Groinchurn, pretty much).

Oh, and everyone should have a go at archery. Toying with taking a beginners course now, as I enjoyed it that much.

Now this is genuinely odd.

Terra Tenebrosa

Sort of Agalloch feel to it in parts, but very unsettling with it. Interesting.

One week on from Bloodstock Open Air, and I wish I was still sat outside my tent under a gazebo getting gazebo'd. Awesome festival, and it didn't even have that many bands on I like!

archery isfking epic!! been a few years since i was last doing it with any sort of regularity but it gets under your skin.also, if you haven't tried it have a go at clay shooting.really enjoyable sport.the only sport i have wanted to do (partly because of it's similarities to boxing;which is my first love)and have yet to try is fencing.i badly want to get involved in it but at the moment just haven't got the time
