archery isfking epic!! been a few years since i was last doing it with any sort of regularity but it gets under your skin.
Especially if you do it badly!

I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it. Liked the mental aspect as much as the physical. Sort of like golf, but without having to dress like a tit.

There's also a sort of old school / Pagan / folk metal vibe to it, which is another bonus. I have a few friends who do battle re-enactment and LARP, and it has that sort of feel to it. Feels like you should be sat round a camp fire afterwards drinking mead and listening to Waylander, Solstice or Sabbat smile

One week on from Bloodstock Open Air, and I wish I was still sat outside my tent under a gazebo getting gazebo'd. Awesome festival, and it didn't even have that many bands on I like!
Sounds quite similar to me, although I took the lightweight hotel option rather than camp. Will you be back next year?

Not quite, I lived in Forest Hill for a bit and my brother is still there, my Dad lived in Brockley for a while but is now in Anerley..

I auditioned (drums) for Pagan Altar when Diccon was still in the band. He's a nice guy and a great bass player.

Few of us had a beer with him after the archery lesson and he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Was chuffed I'd heard of VOD and seemed equally enthused that I'd enjoy the archery so much. We even discussed the merits of Anal 's "Unplugged" album smile

Back in 1982 PAGAN ALTAR released this N.W.O.B.H.M. masterpiece and almost immediately this album went into obscurity. They have been by far the most over looked band in the history of heavy metal music. It’s amazing that they’ve finally pulled it all together for being virtually non-existent for nearly 15 years. They deserve all of the success and recognition they’re getting today and much, much more! In the late 90’s they came out of the woodwork and put this out on their own label and it was mistakenly called “Volume 1”. The extra track was an acoustic track which was just called “Acoustics” at the time. This is the first time this album will be released in all its glory. The correct title “Judgement of the Dead” and updated acoustic song title as well. Also, this is the original artwork that was released back in 1982 which has never been seen before until now! We’ve re-mastered the CD to sonically preserve its antique feel. If there ever was such a thing as a perfect album, this would be it! There is nothing more satisfying than the sound of this record. If you’ve never heard of this band or album, think of Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull and you’re almost there. They take music to a whole new level.

1. Pagan Altar
2. In The Wake Of Armadeus
3. Judgement Of The Dead
4. The Black Mass
5. Night Rider
6. The Dance Of The Banshee
7. Reincarnation

Nice, just to be tr0o and kult, I own both Vol 1 and the followup Lords of Hypocrisy. They must almost be in the Guiness Book of Records for the slowest working band of all time, par example the period between formation and official debut was 22 years and a further 6 years passed until the follow up!

As a further completely random, fact one of my friends is married to the longtime drummer Mark Elliott's daughter!

The start of this is nicely menacing. Not particularly original but I've never bothered with the band as the name has put me off (I know.. but with so many bands to check out it can atleast be an indicator). Doom/Sludge.

Terra Tenebrosa

Sort of Agalloch feel to it in parts, but very unsettling with it. Interesting.
Think I like that, not sure really.

"Quantum Mystic" from the same album is one of my favourite doom/stoner tracks. Singer's voice takes a bit of getting used to mind you.

Both awesome tracks, 'Suffer...' used to be my favourite ND song, still in my top 5.
