Listened to Rust in peace yesterday such an awsome album, Marty is such a good fit with 'deth.
Been listening to Megadeth this very evening. Never really got into them properly beyond the first few, as always found them a bit patchy, but got a best of for a few quid and it's reminded me just how great they can be. Can't argue with the likes of "In My Darkest Hour" and "Holy Wars".hornet said:

On another note my bro met Alice Cooper, he said he is a pretty awsome dude. Oh he met him in topman...

Finally picked up a physical copy of "Noregs Vaapen" by Taake. Fantastic record and way more than just Black Metal. Still has that icy cold vibe to it, but loads more besides, from Black n'Roll to banjo. Definitely one of the most interesting BM projects out there.
Not listened to the new one yet and for some reason I've never really followed/sought out their works, despite liking all I've heard. I will be seeing them/him at the end of December, should be interesting although I hope Hoest manages without any amusing wardrobe incidents!CrabDan said:
The last Alice In Chains album was epic IMO
I would have been disappointed if I'd actually been expecting anything good. Wallpaper music. Not even as good as Jerry Cantrell's solo stuff which itself was not in the same stratosphere as AIC in their prime. All the grit is gone and with it all the soul.IMO of course.

Similar in that I was never really aware of the earlier stuff, although not quite sure why, as it ticks all the boxes I like ticked in the genre. Hoest is an interesting character as well, dubious wardrobe choices and all. Just finding the new one that bit more engaging as a metal album, rather than a Black Metal album. Similar deal with recent Sargeist, especially their most recent EP.Heard lots of new stuff I like but nothing that really breaks my typical Black/Sludge mold.
These aren't bad: Lords of Bard(Doom/Stoner)
Oh, and the new Converge rips: Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind
Listened to the album now, thanks for posting this - album is not bad either, possibly my best discovery from this thread.

In a similar, albeit darker vein - Dark Buddha Rising
That's really good - I have downloaded the album to check out in the future. militantmandy said:

Pretty sure LOB are an Edinburgh band. Think I've drunkenly swayed about at their gigs a few times. Seems to remember them being pretty good.CrabDan said:
