I was looking forward to seeing Midnight in a few weeks, sadly the gig has been cancelled. Not a million miles from Motorhead; essentially early Thrash, particularly on the newest album:

Rhythm guitarist in the covers band I play bass in introduced me to Gojira and Meshugga. Awesome.

Saw Meshuggah on their last tour, I'm a fan but me and my mate left before the end, it was just relentless pounding intensity messing with my mind. Awesome, but no respite...

I can imagine it could be tiring for a decent set at gig volume.

Bit of a thread bump to see what folks have been listening to of late. No links for the moment, but recent purchases have included Crypt Lurker, Conan, Coffinworm, Wolvhammer, Temple of Baal and Quest of Fire. Cheery!

Elephant Tree... New stoner/doom band from London with some great riffs and deep heavy guitar tone!

A mate of mine showed me this Andorran metal band called Persefone. I think they are pretty epic actually!

Also, Devil Sold His Soul have just released a new track which I'm loving;

I'm still listening to all sorts but mainly Black Metal and Sludge. An elite lineup of a gig was announced last week, my tickets are booked. Inquisition, Archgoat, Ondskapt + Blackdeath

One song I absolutely love at the moment is this, fairly typical for me (which means not popular on this thread) but at the least skip to 2 minutes in and listen to the beautiful lead..

Blut Aus Nord - De Librio Arbitrio

I'm really into Howard Jones's (ex Killswitch Engage) new band, Devil You:

Good album, less commercial than KSE I think.

Really enjoying the Wolvhammer record. Reminds me quite a bit of "fk the Universe" era Craft crossed with someone like Unearthly Trance.

New Electric Wizard is getting some good reviews, even in the Guardian, of all places!

Sounds dirtier and more chaotic than recent releases and reminds me a lot of Come My Fanatics, in that it feels like it might spiral out of control at any given moment.

Because there simply aren't enough death metal albums about intergalactic slugs...

That's really rather good, slugs or otherwise.

I really like Meshuggah apart from the vocals. A bit like Lamb of God. Incredibly talented musicians though.
