Found via the NoCleanSinging blog. Breaks their own rules, but really nice stuff. All in Hungarian, so no idea what any of it is about, but beautiful atmosphere. Sort of Greek Black Metal crossed with some of the folky North American stuff perhaps?

Need to spend some proper time with that.

Well I saw SikTh tonight in Motion, Bristol. I could have done with the vocals turned up just a tiny bit. Other than that they sounded fantastic to my ears. Such a good gig, crowd was loving it chanting "can't we all dream?" between songs - Mikee Goodman joined in each time which was great. Lot's of energy, crowd had lots of pits and crowd surfers. Was worth the wait (last saw them Download '06)

Good news, sounds like the crowd were more up for it than Manchester for some reason.

Was always a great (if filthy) groove about Pungent Stench, and Bonesawer is up there as my all time favourite death metal track.

One of my favourite bands and have to say that this is one of the best covers I have heard - up there with their version of land of confusion

It was a great show. Reign of Fury, Beholder and Lawnmower Deth were all awesome. LD were just insane, their xmas shows get better every year

Metalcore Kitchen, a video of singer Linzey Rae and the band The Ghost Inside performing a song that doubles as a recipe for shepherd's pie.

Folks, I'm a bit of a newbie (despite my advancing years) to the metal thing.

I'm a big fan of Demon Hunter and was looking for recommendations of a similar ilk?

Cheers

Not as heavy or extreme as my usual metal choices, but Crooked Doors by Royal Thunder is a blinding album. Mlny has a voice to die for

Any recomendation other than what's most obvious if I like Soilwork? The earliest stuff isn't as much to my taste, but I'm not averse to it.

Recent listening and discoveries.

Hekz

Discovered by chance when chatting to their drummer, who was helping out another band who were playing in our local rock pub.

New Conan

Not had a chance to properly listen, but liking what I've heard.

Ashtar

This one has me utterly hooked. Blackened doom with a great atmosphere and great vocals.

Slugdge

Yep, more. They clearly never sleep.

Discovered Mantar via a new song posted over on No Clean Singing

https://mantar.bandcamp.com/album/death-by-burning

Nice noise for just guitar and drums.
