"Foetal Juice" has to be one of the silliest band names I think I've ever heard in all my years of liking bands with silly names. Not even German porno grind at its most tasteless can top that smile
lol, Foetal Juice are great. If you want silly, check out Neuroma's "Extremophile" album (worth doing anyway for its sheer brutality) with tracks like "Semi-Skinned Milf", "Gash in the Attic" and "Chicken Poodle Soup". Quality song titles right there smile

Guessing it's brutal in the modern death metal sense, which doesn't really float my boat. As for silly titles, I still like "Only Tools and Corpses" smile

Listened to Neuroma and it's alright, but sounds like every other modern brutal death metal band to my ears if I'm being honest. Doesn't really do much for me.

Now this...

Yeah, they are slightly better in my ears than a lot of the generic new dm though. There are some good riffs hiding in there.

Repulsion wins though, I'll give you that. You still can't beat proper old school dm.

Anyway, back to Thrash. Have you heard the new Overkill album, "The Electric Age"? Cracking album and one of the best Thrash releases in ages.

Few things that caught my attention on my latest YouTube trawl...

Exhumed - Distorted and Twisted to Form
Napalm Death - Quarantined
Deceased - A Very Familiar Stranger

Drifted away from Napalm Death in recent years, as I was away in Blacker waters, but that's pretty solid to my ears. As for Exhumed, I don't care that it's basically just Carcass worship, I still bloody love it. Deceased are very hard to pin down, as one moment they're out and out old school death metal, the next they're full on Maidenesque NWOBHM. Good stuff.

Yeah, Exhumed are pretty good.
Napalm have been releasing some cracking stuff of late, completely different from the Scum/FETO stuff, but really interesting.

This morning I'm currently re-enjoying Mortician.

Have we talked about Alae Noctis yet?

I'm really enjoying their "Cyborgs" album. Fits in nicely with my current cyber-metal obsession.

Can probably trace a great deal of the current ultra technical sci-fi obsessed stuff back to this record. Even the cover art has the same vibe. Still not sure I get on with it all these years later.

My latest YT find is not Death Metal but more "southern stoner",
heavy with some fuzzed-out riffage :
Albatross Overdrive from USA

Yeah, hard to argue with that.

I really, really like The Outer Limits. It went a bit st after that, but then Katorz happened.
