Where did all those years go?! Ranks as one of my all time favourite albums, along with Cowboys, and much underrated imo.

So far it's not been too traumatic. I managed to get a first pass of all the drums yesterday. 5 tunes in 6 hours which I'm pretty pleased with. My legs were trashed!i loved nothing more than getting in the studio and fiddling and morphing and polishing ......oh for the 90's again!!
Will probably need to redo a couple of bits today. The click is cruel!
May not hard enough for some on here, but stoner-bluesrock of the finer sort : Red Spektor

Quite enjoying this at the moment :-

Decent stuff, especially as all self produced.
This is also really rather good, and a style that's starting to "click" with me.

I haven't checked back very far....but have any of you tried out Uneven Structure?
Incredibly catchy djent-ish/Sikth type French dudes. Try their album Februus.
Also, the Black Peaks album is decent.
Not much of that style has ever clicked for me, but I absolutely love "8". Should probably give Februus another go.Incredibly catchy djent-ish/Sikth type French dudes. Try their album Februus.

5 tracks in 6 hours!.....used to take us 2-3 days to do a couple of tracks!
Yeah, we only have 4 days, so we just had to live with it. For our full length we'll take a lot more time.tuscaneer said:
are you signed pal or is this self funded?....it gets quite expensive this lark doesn't it?!!
Purely self funded. By the time it's mixed, mastered and printed it'll be well north of 600 quid! Any recommendations for mixing/mastering? We might use the guy who did the recordings, but we want to keep our options open.Has been a great experience, learnt a lot about how we'd approach it the next time. On a personal level I have really changed up how I practice as well.
What bands were you in? Anything I can hear?

i uploaded some of our stuff to youtube a few years ago. the sound quality isn't anywhere near as good as the actual recordings but you get the idea!!
the'99 tracks we did at LIPA for free!! as we were part of a lad's final project on his sound engineering degree...luckily for us he was into similar stuff to us. the earlier stuff we paid for ourselves.expensive!

expensive times ahead until you get signed pal!!!...been there done that!!....we never quite managed to get signed whereas my mates band ( cecil) signed to parlophone for the princely sum of 100k. but that LOAN never stretches as far as you'd like and while i was gutted back in the 90's that we never got past the stage of the odd a&r guy turning up at our shows........ultimately i'm glad my career path went the way it did. it might not be as glam in a meat factory as playing at download but hey ho!!
