Quite surprised deftones weren't in my top 5 this year but not really surprised defeater hit the top spot... I became obsessed with them this year .. as per usual Depeche mode and cinematic orchestra always in there .. glad to see fairweather and to whom it may make it in .. both great bands...clocked up 34000 minutes this year ... Or average 11 hours a week . A little bit more than last year from memory

Sleep token live tonight.... If they're half as good live as they were last time we're in for something special,

I've recently, as in this last week, started listening to them. Their stuff ain't half bad is it?
very accomplished band pal, really wellcrafted songs and blindingly good production quality too

I really got into them a few years ago but made the mistake of following them on social media and the excessive cryptic self-hyping really put me off, I caught up with their newer stuff last week and was kicking myself a bit for getting sucked in and turned-off by clever marketing rather that just focusing on the music.

I'd like to see them live but suspect I've done my usual and waited until they're successful enough to sell out the bigger venues I don't really like as much.
totally agree with this.... all the social media guff is nauseating.... "worship" and "ritual" etc... fk off lads.... i try to ignore all that bks and focus on the talent as much as possible

Have you been down the "Blacklit Canopy" wormhole yet? It's a bit jingly jangly folk / indie in comparison but the basics are there.

Parsnip.
i haven't yet pal but will take a look cheers,

Well... Seeing as I'm a bit obsessed with quicksand and have been for 30 years since they released slip and changed EVERYTHING I thought it would be a good idea to catch them on their slip 30th anniversary tour.twice. I'm going to Copenhagen to catch them tomorrow night then straight back to the UK to catch them in Manchester next week!

Has anyone listened to the latest Tesseract album 'War of Being?' Got it for Christmas and it's really bloody good! I had heard of Tesseract around the metal scene for the last decade or so, but just happened to have never listened to them. Contemplating getting tickets to see them up London in February.
Stonking album, seen them live three times now and they are flawless.... It was actually tesseract that prompted me to start this very thread 14 years ago!

Yes I just noticed your post about them was the first, blimey you know you're getting old when 2010 was 14 years ago! I did see Tesseract live in London, fantastic gig and can't wait to see them again.
tell me about it mate!... i've just started a new band as i'm not making as much progress as i'd like with the current outfit...still doing it, but i've got time for 2 bands...

i'm nearly 20 years older than most of the lads in the new band.. i was laying tracks down in recording studios when the new drummer was a new born baby !!
