Damn this thread, got all my old Sparks albums out.

"Guess I was wrong because you fled, leaving me with my Michelin Guide and half empty foreign bed,"

"You mentioned Kant and I was shocked, so shocked. From where I come from none of the girls have such foul tongues,"

"rumours spread like tumours: too,too fast and too,too true"

"3 wise men are here, where shall leave these imported gimmicks? Leave them anyway, just anyway but make sure there's a clear path to the door,"

"Or if you were available you'd bring along, a lot of hangers on who'd be a hinderence to me.I ain't a glutton for a lot of sweaty company,"

ahhh...memories...

7" single of Ernie The Fastest Milkman in the West by Benny Hill.

Picked up at a school bring and buy along with The Bedside Insomniac by Spike Milligan.

The pair for 10p

I was 7, it was 1979 and I didn't understand either of them until I was about 12.

Very clever guy. Not only does he write some great lyrics and music but he was very clued up about performing on shows like TOTP. If you watch any of the clips on youtube, he is always aware of when the camera is on him and reacts accordingly. Not many performers in the 70s were that visually aware.
