You must have a deep record collection. I worked/helped in a mate's shop on saturdays but ended up getting paid in records and me still owing them money lol.
Loads of US house, tech house, soulful techno, soul, R&B and Hip-Hop. White labels and promos galore. I really should sell some of them, I have boxes and boxes in the attic just gathering dust! smile

@ Brabus - Not sure. I've been a fan of The LOX for awhile. I was listening to Sheek Louch's Good Love tune today on my way to work as it goes.
I've always seen Sheik as the weaker link, some of the bars that Jada and Styles P rap are almost as eloquent as Nas with a bit more gritty realism about them.

Although Sheiks line in F*ck You "you got a gut feeling about Sheik ? That means you shot" was replayed loads when I first heard it!

Great thread!

I'm now going to spend my day having a bit of a hip-hop overload.

Two songs spring instantly to mind though;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ugtke61OFeM - Gangstarr - Discipline.

Some excellent lyrics on that. In fairness if you haven't got Full Clip - A decade of Gangstarr in your library you're shooting blanks in my opinion.

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEGNtTFlBpc - Roots Manuva - Witness.

For one of my favourites ever;
"cos right now
I see clearer than most
I sit here contented with this cheese on toast"

In fact, while I'm at it; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtnVMq7Psb8 - mos def - ms. fat booty - for that immortal line; "ass so fat you could see it from the front.."

No rap fan should ever need that compilation because they should have all the bloody albums in the first place. Lol.

Yes I do realise that song only came on that comp.

Worthy Bump.

Agree with Mobb Deep - Infamous, this is one of my favourite albums. Trying to find similar artists/albums with this kind of style and beats is proving difficult!

Worth a listen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CET8lQfRbco, from Showbiz and AG - goodfellas.

Also look up Aspects. Bristol group and a mate is one of the crew. They're doing pretty well and the lyrics are pretty original.

I'm not really a fan of Kendrick Lemar. He sounds pretty average IMHO but alot of people seem to like him. I think he's just a fresh sounding voice in today's rap.
