Too many names come to mind regarding great lyrics.

Eminem, Ice Cube, Guru, Jeru, All Wu members, Chuck D, Nas, Doom and those are the names that just popped into my head.

If you want to hear a brilliantly written track then I'd recommend "Impossible" from Wu Tangs 2nd album "Wu Tang Forever".

The last Hip Hop album I've bought which is excellent from beginning to end both lyrically and musically is Czarface. It is a collaborative album by the Wu's Inspectah Deck and 7L and Esoteric. Highly recommended.

Great choice "Impossible" heard it on my playlist on the way to work...and a great little shout out to Transformers in that track.

RZA is really the stand out Wu member for me!

Indeed. Sounds good after all those years. Featured in the GTA San Andreas game too.

Funny you say that Big Raff as every time I think of that track, I ALWAYS think of the Transformers reference as I'm a big TF fan smile

Regarding RZA. I think he's the best hip hop producer with some spot on lyrics although his flow can be a bit too fast at times. Still a great rapper though.

Been listening to some old Eminem tunes. This is my favourite one of all time;
Stan Ft Dido http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RMI_Pc4exc

Dido on the chorus makes the song great for me. Love the beat too, nice and not too slow.

You might laugh, nut the iLL Manors album is pretty bloody good

However, you need to watch the film, or at least know the context for the songs and the way they interact

'Mr drug dealer' is epic if you can ignore the UK gangsta overtones

Great tune, wasn't even aware of this track, thanks.

Here's some tracks on my current daily playlist:

Big L - How Will I Make It
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL9l5CojBNQ

Big L - Street Struck
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwff61MTOUo

T-Macky - I'm Anti-Kill U (most underrated tune ever, he's an up'n'coming Brum rapper, has less than 50 views for this mp3 version linked, and under 2.5k for the video!)

Money by the Game is probably my favourite for quotes. And Angel.

Also loving Start it Up by Lloyd Banks at the moment, "they say good things come to those who wait, so I'ma be at least about an hour late" Kane West lines but still quality.

Anyone heard Kendrick Lamar's verse on Big Sean's recent track Control? Hopefully the start of the new (mainstream-ish) era of real hip hop. Here's Kendrick's verse, don't bother with Big Sean's or Jay Electronica's verse.
