How about Murs , Slug , Immortal Technique from the newer era
and some classics from the mighty Hijack .
Agreed on Murs and Slug. The Felt albums are worth a look. 3:16 by Murs is a classic IMO.

J5 A Day at the Races is a great track

Lots of J5's stuff is brilliant.

Other stuff includes Gangstarr's Hard to earn album. Guru's (RIP) Jazzmatazz work is very nice to listen to. Some odd stuff, but mostly good. Not in the same vein as Gangstarr.

MC Solaar is nice to listen to and helps practice for Le Mans hehe

Lots of other stuff I can think of atm.

With you on this. I'm a massive Gangstarr fan (such a shame to lose Guru). The stuff with Solaar recently has put me off him a little bit, but at the end of the day, his lyrics are seriously on point.

If Guru and Premier weren't almost mutually exclusive over the Gangstarr years ( not Jazzmatazz Volumes ). Do you think they would have been as popular?

By that i mean I was drawn to Gangstarr by Premiers production on other tracks, not Gurus MC'ing.

A few more since I've looked at my collection:

Raekwon - Only Built for Cuban Linx
Gza/Genius - Liquid Swords
2Pac - 2Pacalypse Now
Outkast - ATLiens
Jeru the Damaja - The Sun Rises in the East
Jeru the Damaja - Wrath of the Math
DJ Premier - New York Reality Check 101

British Hip Hop:

Skitz - Countryman ( Double Reds is my favourite track)
Roots Manuva - Brand New Second Hand is a great album, Run Come Save Me a little less favoured, but still good.

Jedi Mind Tricks and RA the Rugged Man... listen to the second verse by RA; it's one of the best rap verses ever IMO and based on tales of his father who fought in Vietnam (so I heard)

KRS One has some of the best passages of creation and delivery I can recall- I'll post some links when I get home.

Failing that, have you listened to any Beanie man on the UK side?

Agreed, love KRS One. Not listened to Beanie Man at all, will give him a try.

I'm listening to some classic Eminem today! Infinite is a great album to check out, from before 'Dre Days'.

I like that album, only ever did listening on the internet though, could never find the album to buy/download.

Does that make it better for the lesser exposure, or worse because it isn't as prolific?

Biggie Smalls - Life After Death in the car atm. BRILLIANT!
