Lyrically, these are some of the finest ever written, IMO:

Immortal Technique - Crimes of the heart

Love...doesn't need a complicated metaphor
And sometimes nothing needs to be said at all
Sometimes a person you with is not your one and only
And you just fk with them because you afraid to be lonely
And when you come back its too late
So you overcompensate
Like victims of rape
Full of self hate
Lost in the affection to strangers around you
Instead of the only person that ever gave a fk about you
Thought you were happy so you didn't come check me
But then when he cheated or treated you incorrectly
You conveniently realized you could never forget me
And tried to crawl back in my life unexpectedly
These are my indictments
Of those who claim to be righteous
And leave a trail of broken hearts on their way to enlightment
But I cant give into hatred or pass judgment
Even towards every illusion I've been in love with
'cause the heart that betrays itself willingly
Is like a nation that trades freedom for stability
Its so seductive to be cold and corrupted and isolated and try to be an independent republic
But liberty to be loved on the surface is worthless
The sacrifice of revolution with no purpose
Take it from a criminal searching for his redemption
Cursing at God desperately trying to get his attention

Actual genius.

P.O.S (feat. Dessa) - low light low life

It seems like weve fallen out of favor/ the era ended on us/
Now the moneys just paper/ the houses all haunted/
We had a hell of a run before it caught up/
For all the corners cut/ we got an avalanche of sawdust/

Life of the party/ were the death of the novel/
The glass is half empty/ so pass the next bottle/
Its the flight of the salesman/ death of the bumblebee/
Nothing left for the/ attorneys and the tumbleweeds/
They say that Gods on the right/ so goes the rhetoric/
But I think that cross is a kite/ that left a skeleton/
And I think that Russel was right/ but thats irrelevant friend/
For all I know therell be nothing left to defend tomorrow/
Sugar in the gas tank/ nothing in the cash box/
Thought that we were sick/ lookin like its smallpox/
The bullets are still on the shelves/
But when the armory empties/ were melting down the bells/

The bit I've sectioned off at the end is probably one of/if not my most favourite part in modern hip hop, if not all hip hop.

Good choices. Especially Sticky Fingers. I can't get enough of Onyx.

And also I bring you another selection from the 'Infinite' album by Eminem.

Eminem - 313

Some of the punch lines are brilliant;

Eminem said:
Your ass forgot, so just in case you don't remember me
I'll run your brain around the block to jog your fking memory

...

But don't front and never try to be what you're not
Cause you can be quick, jump the candlestick, burn your back
And fk Jill on a hill, but you still ain't Jack

What up
To all rappers shut up with ya shuttin up
And keep your shirt on, at least a button up
Yuck, is they rhymers or strippin males?
Outta work jerks since they shut down Chippendales

I was a bit late getting into MF Doom. It was the bootleg cd that him and Madlib put together that confirmed to me what a genius the guy is.

I have just started listening sage Francis' older stuff again, forgot how good his lyrics are!
I see a lot of mentions of JMT, there's no doubt Vinnie Paz has a cracking flow, but I find it hard to get past his sexist, homophobic and heavily religious lyrics.

^^ Rap music on the whole probably isn't for you then laugh

Joking aside I've not noticed Paz to be any worse than most (good or bad read that how you want). The person I could not stand was Necro. He always managed to boil my piss!!
