Always rated early DMX stuff before he went all crazy and start to fill his tracks with sound bytes of him barking like a dog.
Also been listening to alot of dilated peoples recently i forgot how good there stuff was.
I've always had a lot of time for DMX. Not sure why but he comes across as someone genuinely wanting to do better with his life.

Even with the amount of trouble he seems to be facing recently? hehe

I am a major fan of DMX. Damien is a great song.

+1 for all of these guys except for Saigon! (I'm a Joe Budden kind of guy!)

All massively underrated MC's who should be bigger than they are!

Joe Budden is okay to but Saigon tips the scales for me.

I'm currently listening to the Vado and Camron mixtape Polo Sport. Bit of an aquired taste but I like that Harlem boasting style of rap.

Not sure if he's been mentioned as well apologies if he has but I think Jay Electronica is another good one to watch out for.

Music has changed so much what with the increase of downloads (both legal and not) that alot of artists that would have been big had they come out in the early 90's are artists who end up on the good but need more promotion lists.

Saigon is a prime example of that. Had he been around about 5 years earlier I think he'd be in a much different position compared to today.

For those interested, 'G.O.O.D Friday' has started. Kanye is releasing a new song every Friday featuring (mostly) artists from his label (G.O.O.D). These can be had for free at www.kanyewest.com

Monster and Good Friday are my favourites, so far!

how we got to 4pages without this being mentioned..

Uk wise, if you listen to some of Professor Green lecture number 1 it is far better than the material he is releasing now.

I remember seeing Professor Green at the Jump Off shows and he was a sick battle mc. I've not been into his released stuff.

Jedi Mind Tricks and RA the Rugged Man... listen to the second verse by RA; it's one of the best rap verses ever IMO and based on tales of his father who fought in Vietnam (so I heard)

Great track that, i love Jedi's, got all their album... real raw hip hop. Vinni P is a lyrical monster!

im on the hunt for some good hip hop at the mo, as my collection is very limited. a few songs i can think of off the top of my head that i like are:
Dre-still dre
dre and snoop-deep cover
Eminem - Guilty Conscience
biggie-sky is the limit
eminem-sing for the moment
jay z feat mop - you dont know
wu tang clang-gravel pit

i know its a wierd choice but i like hip hop/rap with good lyrics and a good, catchy beat. i have been researching some of the suggestions mentioned earlier and so far my next few albums i buy will be:
Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
nas-illmatic
(toying with Eminem - Infinite )
does anyone have any other suggestions? only listened to a few nas and wu tang clan songs but really liking both of them
youtubed abit of jedi mind tricks and on the fence with those
same with mobb deep but alot more my thing.

any other suggestions?
