Great photos smile And I can see that you suffered by the red carpet.

I had huge trouble with white balance. My first days photos look like, I took them on Mars smile
Hopefully will upload the best of mine this evening.

First time at the show, and I have to say the lighting was pretty scensorede for getting decent photos unless you had some proper flash kit. Is it always that bad?

BTW - Did anyone attend the Coys auction on Saturday? Wondered what "Eleanor" went for; doesn't appear on the Coys site yet.

Correct. It was damaged on its way back from America.
Thanks for that info - disappointed not to see it. Thought the F1 display was dreadful with the cafe as the background. Didn't even take one photo of it......

Lighting is always like that!

The red carpet around the Porsche Club stand was horrwndous - except for this pic -

There are 3 alternatives 1 Big flash! 2 No flash and a tripod - can get away with monopod 3 hope for a very bright day and that enough good light comes in!

You can get some very strange lighting on some stands at the NEC - this was at the NEC Classic and Sportscar show a few years ago. Impossible!

They used three different type of light; fluorescent, tungsten and spots. So the camera gets crazy while measuring the light. I changed my settings to measure on the centre and calculate overall environment. Also playing with white balance all the time, and setting white balance with a gray card :/

Proper flash will solve the problem but that's a huge investment.

Regarding to auction, they were charging for £10 even for press. So I didn't attend. Actually, there wasn't enough space to take photo of each car.

They were letting people in to the auction on Sunday or a knock-down price of a fiver. Some of the cars and the chairs had gone so there was a little more room for photos...which I will get around to posting soon...

Eleanor fetched £85K (c.£95K including fees) but several cars didn't reach their reserve including Colin McCrae's Focus WRC.

Star of the show IMHO:
