Yup , agree there. The arena show was pretty much saved by Solberg who was spectacular and an all round great guest driver. The organisers seriously need to come up with some NEW ideas!!!
I agree. There are some new things in discussion for next year. One major issue that I have mentioned before is the lack of grip in there. Anything with more than 200 bhp ends up just breaking traction. Fine for the likes of Solberg, Japspeed and Terry Grant but useless for much else. When we ask owners of very expensive machinery to bring along their cars you can imagine what their reaction might be...

I do agree with you, it's very similar each year but there are new ideas for to try and implement for 2016.

Any suggestions on content would be most welcome by the way smile

For me the monster truck was very impressive and I don't recall seeing one at the show before, maybe more of that type of thing.

Where's the issue? hehe

If the race cars all end up doing the same thing (and lets face it, anything on slicks and a race setup needs to be on a full circuit to look properly fast, everyone is used to watching F1 speeds on TV), then as someone says above, more of the weird and wonderful stuff then, the monster truck, stunt riders, autograssers, maybe see if you can get one of dragsters that are always at the show to give at least a static fire up even though they can't do a display, the noise of one of those is enough of a sensation half the time.

Maybe because a drasgter does not make feature anything that is sold in Haymarket magazines, hence the parade of road cars.....

Lol, I very much doubt there is much drag racing in either, maybe a few events a year in MN.

ON a serious note. running a nitro methanol powered car indoors is probably a bad idea, but you could run a Pro Mod, or something. They get bigger crowds at drag meetings than any club race gets, and you don't see it featured much in either publication.

And, anyone, even you can pop up there and have a go. Anotehr thing totally alien to anyone invovled in MSA motorsport largely the only thing in Hayshed magazines.

This is the 5th year in a row that I have attended the Autosport show and I'm afraid it will be the last.

Firstly the Live Show hasn't changed that much over the years, I know some have said that Mr Solberg
saved the show but he was on for all of 5 minutes if that before he broke a drive shaft. All the races
were also the same as last year and if I wanted to see a procession of cars I could have easily looked
them up on YouTube. My biggest issue with the Live event is the seating, it's really crap and a real
luck of the draw if you get stuck behind a pillar. I know it's only £10 but you should be able to
select your seat as part of the booking process and if it means paying a bit more for a better seat
then that's fine.

Secondly, the main show itself. Why are there stalls at the show that have nothing to do with any form
of motor sport. There are were sections that looked like a local market, jewelry and clothing stalls
very poor, almost as if the organizers just needed to fill the space and pull in the money.

And Last but not least the extortionate prices for food/drinks. I was £12 for 2 bottles of water and
2 bags of chips, an absolute disgrace. So including the £88 for 2 tickets, £10 for parking, £90 for
hotel and the £100 for fuel driving down from Glasgow. Not far off £300.

Anyway rant over, will not be going again.

With motorsport shows few and far between, it's a real shame...

That's the NEC rather than show organisers. I used to go to the photography show but more and more stalls that were nothing to do with it and more like a market including the never been in the military make a random charity brigade loads of them about.

As for the food it's overpriced and not even any good last year I was also sold a flat bottle of coke checked the expiry and passed its sell by.
