Hi there,
First time I have missed the show in about 5 years. Was disappointed last year, and never even bothered applying for my usual media pass (which gives me free tickets) for this years show. Orginally planned to go tomorrow with some of the guys from work however not bothering now.
Only car I would really like to have seen is the Jaguar XJR15 that is in a few pics I have seen, and perhaps some of the GT/Historic stuff. Not an F1 fan so for me most of the show is boring anyway.
Hope those of you that go enjoy it though.
Regards
Tim

I agree with the thoughts of some that is was smaller than previous years and overall not as good. With ever increasing prices it will for sure stop many people coming again and could then lead to the spiral of decline (smaller visitor numbers = less exhibitors = smaller visitor number etc etc).
I've seen the other thread about the lack of PH members cars and that was for sure showed. The overall lack of exhibitors was clear to see for me by the fact that merchandise and tool companies had prime stands positions in the main halls rather than where they were previously.
I'll need some seriously attarctive incentive to go again next year I think.

Have to admit i was a bit disappointed about the show as well especially for the price and how it was being portrayed on the website. For what it was i definetly think it was way overpriced so dont think il be going next year.
Yep, 100% agree with that. I'm not going next year for the first time in a while. It was very expensive for what it was, more pricey than last year with a lot less stuff. I've gone to AS every year for the last 7. I've also exhibited there twice and it's a sad fact that it has seen a steady decline over the years.
From an exhibitor point of view the problem is one of high cost coupled with poor to medium quality footfall largely caused by the what seems to be a transition from a "proper" autosport focused show to a sort of more acceptable form of Max Power.
From a visitor point of view the days of huge stands from the likes of Ferrari, Subaru etc have gone, the show has shrunk enormously over the years and it's difficult to justify the headline price.
I went on Thursday, arrived at 9:00 spent until 10:10 talking to various companies in the engineering section, it then took me 30 minutes to do a circuit of the rest of the show and then I was back in my car.
I'm undecided on the PH section; my 2nd time exhibiting at AS was in the PH section when it first ran and it was a fairly good experience. This year I was in and out pretty quickly, not as quick as last year when it really did seem to feel a little Max Power but walking past stands looking like a market stall selling RC helis doesn't really appeal (sorry).
I'll go again next year but only for the engineering part which has retained its focus and treat the rest as a sideshow or quick diversion.
