2 vids from a little exploration run we did the other day. Nothing dangerous, muddy, etc, but nice views from up there. My house is just a mile of 3 away so nice and local. never been up there before.
First one is a bit long, mainly due to laziness editing. I just took out the bits where we natter whenever we stop.

This one is an iphone vid from one of the disused forest trails, on the hill opposite the first vid. Gets pretty scratchy up there.

I don't have the cash to buy 2 set's of alloys and tyres. Us student's aren't made of money you know!
Steeliness, and some remould MT's like Insa Turbo should see you good. Probably cheaper than the tyres from S Africa!http://tyresdirectuk.co.uk/shop/tyres_by_car_model...

My little tonka toy i bought. Going to change wheels and get chunky tyres on it. But overall good fun in fields
Good luck. If it is like my brothers one, the suspension cup is right above the front tyre, meaning you can only put a slighlty larger tyre on before it starts rubbing. It is a ballache to get lift kits, and the like. he got rid and bought an SJ. Not that it is bad offroad, or anything, but your options are severely limited.

Ive seen the difficulty for getting lift kits.
I was actually wondering the other day about the suspension as the tyre did look close Ah well ill just get different tread patterns for it.
It is possible to weld the suspension cup higher up which some folks have done, but you are in the 'oh, bugger, I wonder if that dodgy weld will hold' realm. All solutions for a decent lift seem to involve mid to heavy modification.I was actually wondering the other day about the suspension as the tyre did look close Ah well ill just get different tread patterns for it.
As I said, they are still good offroad, and if you have one with the LSD that will help a lot. It certainly never hindered us out and about, but choice of tyres was an issue, really.

This is probably the only Toyota I'd trade the Defender for. Really original looking truck and very capable by all accounts. Toyota have missed a trick by not marketing it in the UK
Not even an FJ40? I would love one. Had a go of the FJ Cruiser in the states, and it is very nice to drive indeed. Put the MT's back on a few days ago, and went out for a bit of a play today.
Pair of us had a hell of a time getting up this hill. Really slippy, clay, and steeper than it looks. Got up eventually.
Bit of a long vid
