Very nice. The things just will not depreciate into my 4x4 price range (3 figures wink )

How to you go about getting a vehicle to Iceland? A drive through Europe and some ferry hops or is it a case of getting it in a container?
No you won't get one that moves under its own steam for 3 figures! I looked at containers but couldn't find anyone offering shipping from the UK. I am going via ferry from Denmark (Smyril Line) and will be getting to Denmark probably via the Amsterdam ferry which will be a bit of a slog. It's not practical for a short trip but I've booked my entire years holiday allowance in one go for this trip smile.

Sounds like the sort of thing I want to do once my Discovery 2's ready. That 80 looks clean; is it standard or have you done anything to it?

I'll post up my experiences when I get back along with lots of photos, see if I can inspire anyone else smile.

It is a really nice Cruiser (a manual too), I looked at a few right dogs before I found it. It's completely standard apart from steel rims, Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx tyres and ACL big end bearings though I'm debating a snorkel for the Icelandic river crossings. It has 226k on the clock but drives better than several I've driven with less than half that.

That Landcruiser looks great, trips sounds awesome too. That camera will be fun there.

I was having a nice day with my son.....

but then I got cocky and did this....

Once I had dragged it out, repaired the tyre that got ripped of the rim, gashed my leg and wobbled home I managed to upset all the neighbours....

Nice. I bet the economy is rubbish though!

I've got a 4L Cherokee and it averages 12mph rolleyes

Thinking of changing it for something different but it is nice and compact and reasonably quick, plus RWD is fun!

My first forey into the world of off roading, Disco Stu. Took it to Simply Land Rover at Beaulieu and went on their forest drive the week after picking it up. Already hooked, and planning the mods to make it cope with some more off roading. biggrin

I've been a Jeep fan for a good few years and had my '98 ZJ for nearly 7 years.

During that time it has been a great reliable old work horse, despite a few clunks, creaks and groans from the gearbox and differentials!

It did go out in the snow!

Due to a minor incident it was semi retired and replaced with my later WJ, also a 4.0L on LPG.

As the ZJ isn't worth a great deal, I have plans for it.

A lift kit and tyres should do, so any suggestions greatly received!

Here is the WJ doing what it does best.

And on old, worn road tyres, getting stuck!

It had to be towed out by my mate in his wife's Jimny!

From Day 1, to now. I love a good adventure, bit of mud, bit of water, moving trees, and hearing the V8 Rumble. All in less than £1k now including purchase and mods. Its a lot of fun for the pennies

Picked this up today. My first Land Rover, first V8 and first off-roader all rolled into one.

LR3 V8 HSE. Heavy Duty option too. Now I just need to hit the sand dunes (I live in Dubai)

I'm on my second Land Rover now after a few years off.

Here was my first Disco 1 300TDi. I think I broke something everytime I went to Tixover or Yarwell but loved it:

And here is my new 1999 4.6 V8 P38 Range Rover:

Here's the two Disco 3's I had between 2006-2009 and 2009-this month

Almost every toy I could get on it save a winch and raised air intake running 17" Cooper Discoverer ST's

More salubrious variant running 19" Goodyear MTR's on RR Sport rims

Both awesome off-road
