There is a very widely held and entirely incorrect opinion that as it all belongs to the MOD, people can rock up to SPTA and do what the f*ck they like, go where they like and nothing will be said or done.
Bear this in mind though. Mlitary traffic doesn't use public Rights of Way on the whole, so any damage is down to civilian users, and the byways that are open to civilian traffic belong to Wiltshire County Council who regard their abuse just as they would with any other green lane.
