My new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit review
Discussion
Well I test drove a Summit today. Drove as well as the ML I had - and coming from Land Rover / Range Rover... I was pleasantly surprised also. Felt a little more chunky and I like that there was a normal foot brake instead of electonic.
Only issue was that the car was tatty and so I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. Main dealers should really sort their cars out before showing them IMO.
But it's certainly on my list of possible next cars.

I have had a GC Jeep 2011 model for 3 years and all it's need is two bulbs plus normal service and two set of tyres ,great car
and tows really good even with a full load
still not showing any wear inside or out
and looks good when it has to be posh
can even be posh at work
100,000 miles of total reliable driving at around 30 MPG

I got my second one in February and have done 17k miles since.
In fact, I am currently sat in it, on my way to Scotland (Mrs Loafer Driving currently - it is good, but not that good).
Still fantastic cars, and the new one has more toys.
I got a cracking deal new...about 20% off, I think.
Still got my 2016 Overland and it's been faultless. Very comfy to drive, loads of space, well equipped and reliable.
Average MPG over the last 2 years has been approx. 30mpg.
Personally, unless a Summit comes up for a similar price I wouldn't bother with one - the chrome wheels also look awful.
If you do go for the Overland try and ensure you get the safety pack - blind spot monitoring, anti collision and more importantly - adaptive cruise - I love this feature.

I went with Overland as the only thing it lacks over Summit is slightly better stereo but it has slightly better suspension articulation.
I am thinking of buying a '16 or '17 OverlandGoing to try and stretch to the '17 as it's had a slight change, the gear shifter I think.
Where did you find this information about the Overland having better suspension articulation as I can't find that mentioned anywhere, do you mean because of the bumper trims?
I would be going from a 2012 Range Rover L322 which is a great vehicle, especially for towing but it getting to the age now where it keeps needing lots of money spent on it!

As far as I'm aware they are both the same. It's only trim level differences between the 2.Going to try and stretch to the '17 as it's had a slight change, the gear shifter I think.

The limited has springs which are not supposed to be very nice, overland and summit are both on air.
Im in the market for a 2012 (14K bubget) model GC to replace my 2004 WJ Overland in early 2019.
My only concern is do I get a Limited, normal suspension and no pano roof, or the Overland with the more compliacted air ride and pano roof. (Are there any other big option differences I should know about?)
Being a slight bit concered problems with the air ride will start to cost big £££ to sort out as these jeeps start to age a little. Do I really need it ?
My only other slight issuie is they all seem to have black leather. I hate black, dark gloomy interiors, and thats where the Overland pano roof letting in more light seems to make it look a nicer place to be than the limited.
Any thoughts out there ?

Keep coming back to these. sold my M4 at Xmas and now in a 640i but I still like the look of these.
This 75th anniversary in green has just come up and looks great for £26k.
any thoughts on it or owners views appreciated, fairly rare beast.
