Bit late to the party but, get a D3.
They aren't half as bad as the internet makes out and you will get a decent one for your budget.
Get a petrol one for maximum man points, at that mileage the fuel cost difference is negligible and they are fairly rare so are holding value a bit better (and probably will given diesel repair bills, although the tdv6's are fairly robust as a modern diesel).
