4x4 for the beach
Discussion
Cheers guys, please forgive a total learner to 4x4 driving here but the tyres you have mentioned, are they still ok for road use, although am sure more car with driving style is required,it's about 10 miles normal drive till I get to the beach. Is there a site you guys use for purchasing your tyres? blackcircle, mytyres? etc

Basically stick with a mild road tyre and you'll be OK. Reducing tyre pressures makes a significant difference because is elongates the tyre contact patch and allows the tyre to float on the sand rather than try to break through.
What you need is to find the mildest tread pattern which will fit your car. Wider is better as are tyres with round shoulders to the tread (as opposed to square shoulders like an MT).
Sharp edges bite and disperse sand which means you get stuck.
Have a look for articles by Tom Sheppard or similar about sand driving, read and practice (somewhere safe with a backup vehicle) as much as you can.
