the comment has been made "The ground is just liquid mud" so not sure jacking is an option.
Big enough load-spreading base under the jack, and it'll be fine. An old paving slab or similar.

Thanks for your very kind offer Jimmyarm but it's out now, back on the tarmac. The specialist recovery firm who did it (and at a very reasonable price, all things considered) even got their own wagon carrying the winch bogged down. They were emphatic that NO 4WD vehicle would have been able to extract the car as the ground was just too gelatinous, and the 4WD would also have got stuck

In the end, several steel hawsers hitched together and attached to a winch mounted on the recovery truck slowly but surely extricated the car which isnone the worse for its ordeal

Once again, thanks to everyone for all their help and advice, it was really appreciated

Hi, if anybody has a problem like this in future a mini digger makes a great winch, on rubber tracks would make very little damage to the ground. If it doesn't work pulling the car out with the arm, you can lift one track off the ground, wrap a rope round it and it makes a great capstan winch.
