2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee help pls!!!

Hi guys
My old 2001 grand Cherokee 4ltr
Ignition barrel will accept key but won't turn making starting car impossible.
It's been bit hit and miss lately but will just not co operate at all now.
I had same problem bout 12 years ago on a Cherokee but was repaired under warranty.
Maybe this is a common thing which jeep should remedy !!!!!! Yeah right
Anyway any help or advice will be much appreciated.

Sounds like the barrel/key interface has become too worn, thus not allowing the barrel to turn. Try looking for a 2nd-hand replacement online?

Looking for a good specialist round the west mids area to do the job as I'm no good at anything like this !!!

I had this happen to Grand to several years ago, the AA came to my house took everything apart so it could still be driven, then I went to SH Autos in Bromsgrove, they managed to repair the barrel somehow, still using the original key and no problems since
