Our wonderful neighbours have put up a new fence.

Is there anything we can do about this?

Many thanks for any advice.

let me know if you get any medication for it because all I can see is an old fence with something newer slightly higher on the otherside.

I'm thoroughly confused here! What am I actually supposed to be looking for?

Are you seriously saying you've got an issue with their new fence poking a couple of inches over your dilapidated eyesore of an ancient thing?

If so, why not take the opportunity to replace your eyesore with something new which is a couple of inches taller than theirs?

You could pretend to be Donald Trump, and pretend your neighbour is Kimmy boy, and before you know it, inch by inch, the two of you will be able to bond over the fact that you've got the first fences in space!!

Seriously, though, I can't even begin to imagine what you feel is even slightly inconsiderate here, let alone something you could actually sue for?!?!!?

Yep no issue. Lose your grotty thing and enjoy their nice bright new one. Gain a couple of inches of extra space too smile

They were probably fed up at how inconsiderate you were to have that crappy old thing in their face.

Yep, take them to court as I'm sure it's a few mm higher than the legal maximum.

Assuming that the neighbours have been round in the night and installed that crappy looking fence in front of your nice new one I'd say you have definite legal recourse and agree that they've been most inconsiderate.

Parrot to aisle FiF please, as I'd assumed that the complaint was the nice high new fence was the OP's and the neighbours had installed a crappy distressed fence to nick a few inches of land off him.

What is the thing which looks like a Sea Dart missile suspended from the rope

Probably fed up seeing the OP's skiddy Y Fronts whilst eating their breakfast.

Whatever it is, that steel drum is encroaching over your land

Ask them to remove it

Build yours up another ~10cm. Dominate the suburb.

Actually I think it might be impeding your right to sunlight. Instruct a solicitor and inform your neighbour that you'll be sawing the top of his fence off unless he either removes it or installs a giant mirror to illuminate your barbecue.
