4x4's dont/didn't have to meet the same standards as a conventional car - so whilst it has weight and size on its side if you are in a bad accident your fked!
Not as fked as the guy in the small car that crashes into the Landcruiser.
hehe
It is all relative! I had a guy just yesterday try and do a last minute pull out in front of me in the Unimog in a 110 L/R, and I though, don't do it, you WILL die.

No. I've an Excel spreadsheet I downloaded somewhere for the DOT KSI figures per type of vehicle and 4x4s came out well at the top. Our Isuzu Trooper (at the time) with no ABS and handling a supertanker would be ashamed of came out better than my brother's latest people carrier. A Defender might not be stuffed with the latest safety gear but most 4x4 are luxury purchases and do. My Landcruiser has ABS, pre-tensioning seatbelts and front airbags for both front seats and curtain airbags in the sides of the front seats and the A and C pillars. Then there's the weight and height advantage too.

That's it then, I'm selling the Landcruisers as they are unsafe, I'll buy a Fiat Panda instead.

you could stop buying cheapo mickey mouse tyres first-

seriously why have an expensive car, that weighs the best part of 2.5tonnes and put everyone life at risk with cheap tyres?

There is quite a bit of artistic licence in that statement...

yeah i get that- it was more in ref to an earlier statement about buying the cheapest tyres possible- which with a vehicle weighin 2.5tonnes empty is never going to be a good idea.
