I suspect this question has been asked many times before.

I have an Landrover Series 3 which has had a 3.6 v8 with a truck cab conversion. I'd like to add wheels which are slightly wider, my current ones sit way under the body work. What's required, a set of spacers?

Nick.

In short it's easy.

I'm guessing you've got stock wheels on the Landy still? The easiest way is to buy some wider rims and tyres.

Most aftermarket rims are wider, or at least have a slightly different offset to make them stick out further.

Common sizes that work are 10.50/50R15's or 235/85R16, the latter are a tad taller and narrower, but look meaty, the former not so tall, but wider with a bigger looking sidewall profile.

These are some BFG AT's in 10.50/50R15:

Sorry don't have any other pics to hand.

Only thing to watch for is if the wheels then stick out of the arches you'll need to get some flares (Defender or aftermarket).

Wheel spacers are an option as you say, but it depends what you want to do with the vehicle as they are not usually allowed for competition use.

Theres lots of rim options which will push the wheels further out. If you want the traditional style landrover rim that fills the arch better then get some 1 tonne wheels from Vass http://www.vass.co.uk/specials.asp?TyreID={94992A8... bring the wheels level with the body work. Wolf rims offer similar results but the wheel is thicker and there maybe some exposed thread on the wheel nuts. Or there are plenty of aftermarket rims like 8 spokes or modulars
