Vauxhall Frontera - any good off road?
Discussion
Hi guys.
I have a frontera sport and here is why I think is a good car.
- it is cheap to buy
- is not that bad offroading as ppl say.
It has low gear, I got some big MT tires, and ironman lift kit, I increased its power from 110 to 130 hp. (there is also an ARB diff lock for the back wheels if you want)
and i can tell you that is not bad offroading.
It goes to most places a regular offroad car will go. Maybe not fast - so if you try to go to a competition or smth - it will surely break. But if you go with a normal speed offroad it will take you to most places. It never let me down and it never broke until now (I have it from one year)
- it is very nice looking car
- it has a small wheel base (which I was looking for - good for offroading and in town - is not big like a bus - I hate those) but is big inside - bigger than a 3d shogun.
So the sport version 3d I have can very easily fit 5 ppl inside.
the boot is not that small - for 2 ppl is ok if you put stuff also on the back seats. If you have more ppl in the care you will need a Roof Rack.
- good fuel economy - it uses around 9L/100km - which will go to 10 if you put some MT tires.
So tell me a car that is very cheap to buy, looks apart, it takes you camping and even to have some fun offroad, is not huge for driving in town, has a decent fuel consumption and with a roof rack can take 5 or even 6 ppl camping?
Here it is - first image without the lift kit, next 2 with a 5cm lift
