On the topic of car reg numbers, it seems they've moved on from O already and skipped P & Q and gone straight to R as was shown on the matt yellow Raptor I saw tonight on Umm Sequim Street which was wearing the numberplate R9999.
Doesn't necessarily follow I don't think, I've seen a number of S, T and X plates over the past couple of years.... wasta talks I think!

got enough projects on the go at present! bought the plans with the intention of creating a full 3D model from which to refine the idea and create better fab. drgs from. basically something to keep me occupied when i'm travelling with work. i've got the basic tub more or less done and already finding errors in their measurements. got a week in mauritania from sunday so more progress will be made.

quite a lot of fab. and machining involved. jigs are also required to do a pukka job. well within the capabilities of the fabricators we use at work but it'd depend on how much they would charge as to whether it is worth it. they did all the fab on my clubby for free but this is much more involved.

the finished article certainly looks like fun. big yamaha twin would be the best bet - torquier and far cheaper than the busa.

That would be very cool. I don't know where you get the time for all these projects, cycling, track car etc. I am struggling to do half of it!

Sort off, they are not FIA approved, they race under local regs. If you get serious talk to Emil who races them and he says there are lots of modifications to do for use out here.

local rally ready then, the best way. FIA would be far too expensive and it wouldn't fit any class i don't think.

long way from serious at the moment. mainly a CAD exercise at the mo to give my brain a rest on site.

the number of projects a man should have on the go is either N+1 or X-1

N being the number he has now.
X being the number needed for his OH to leave him.

the clio will be race ready again by the end of tomorrow evening's prep session. the clubby, fk knows! bloody clio has pretty much blown any chance of the clubby staying on completion which has killed my enthusiasm somewhat. i'll be out of DXB 4 weeks out of the next 6 so it'll be a sweaty job to finish as well.

we need nick to sort us out a small airconditioned workshop / clubhouse / spousal retreat.

i'd take the clk dtm and have it sprayed black.

only 100 made and a lot more special than the black series cars that followed. also wouldn't be much outgunned by the sl65 black in a straight line - 342bhp/tone against 354 - but i reckon the clk would maul it on track.

a colleague is looking for a car to replace everyone's favourite dubai starter vehicle - the toyota yaris.

his wife will have a family pajero. his requirements are:

convertible
preferably manual
preferably something low key but with plenty of power when required
not american

so far the elise or even exige gets the thumbs up despite it being somewhat less than a wallflower in the looks dept.

bmw 335 turned down for being too boring.

boxster s gets the thumbs up, although he thinks a 997 cab may be too ostentatious.

clearly a finicky mind at work, perfect for this thread!

anything else?
