If only the phone number worked... only sold mine as it was an auto, this would be a perfect replacement!

Great little car, its a bit tired cosmetically but as a few local PHers will testify its a fantastic drive.

Down at Al Hai Motors today I noticed a red Acura NSX parked around the back. It had import stickers on the windows suggesting it was fresh off the boat. Looked to be manual and on a nice set of lightweight alloys. No idea if it's actually up for sale yet but probably will be in the near future! They also had a 360 Challenge Stradale parked up out the back.

Thought I'd post about this as there seemed to be lots of interest in the last one up for sale.

i dunno, that is the epitome of gcc spec to me.

did you ask if the nix was for sale? he usually brings that kind of thing in to order, never even sits in the showroom.

this is tidy, but last sentence doesn't sound dodgy at all…

looking for a tow car as the wrangler is too soft and floaty to control a fully laden trailer.

30k tops
4x4 or pickup
off road capable for camping [sand trails and wadis, not dune bashing]
decent nvh levels on-road
bags of torque and decent brakes

currently thinking disco 2, fortuner, pathfinder type rugged/capable or maybe trade a little capability for comfort and go toureg or similar.

ideas?

Yukon? (Or equivalent)

Not the most obvious choice but ticks most boxes. For wadi / desert track type stuff they are absolutely fine. Comfy on the road and bags of room for whatever kit you want, plus can tow. I had a 2005 5.3 with 160k on the clock and it never missed a beat. Went off road plenty of times and had no issues until I hit proper soft sand.

Brakes - not bad but it's a 3 tonne iron truck...

We had a couple of Tourags in our company fleet a few years ago. Never again, awful motors.

Ours were 07's. Munch through tires, could not get them to go in a straight line, ate propshafts every 60k, added to Al Nabooda servicing back up, massive pain. Most expensive servicing for a company car that we had apart from the F150 FX4.
