Oh. dear. god.

I would love that. Disregard shirts comment, the man is a fool- that is just a stunning car in a stunning livery.

60k.

Reluctantly.

Though at 60k it might be worth a punt as they are epic cars - the last M3 before the true technological tipping point for me.

A mate ran the non manual, SMG or whatever they call it, the Garage that serviced it told him to get shot as a ruinous bill to do with the gearbox was on the horizon.

Sold it to a Lebanese fella that ran a salon smile

The hydraulics that run the SMG are the killer apparently

The guy who is selling it only bought it in Jan this year. So whats with the "I don't use it any more"?

He bought it in a poor state too...

So at 60k it might smell a little? At least it would look good on your drive waiting to be fixed - all that detailing has worked a treat!

depends, given we have no idea what he paid. if it checks out mechanically then it'd a decent buy.

Indeed it is.

Lets get back to musings then.

After a little shift in my car allowance I find myself pondering an R8 again (don't tell mers oilydan). Is insurance going to cost me 5% of the cars value? Thats a bit offputting.

Anyone know of any blue RS4s for sale? scratchchin

I am down to 3.2% now, albeit slight different price bracket (but same cylinders!)

Ooooooooooooooo, whats brought this on? You can always just go 3rd party insurance! Also, what happened to the other V8 option you were considering?

Just sold my 2009 R8. Nothing but heartache and pain. I would not recommend an R8 in this region. Dealers need permission to turn a spanner on them, parts supply is poor and the gearbox just doesnt appear to be up to the job. The dealer bent over backward to sort the car out but Audi ME/large dealer groups (and indeed all brands out here) need to better understand the needs of R8 customers who doesnt have 5 other cars, an indian male assistant and a driver (ie wealthy UAE Nationals).
