how does it look up close? my learned bmw bearded friend tells me this is not a genuine tii. the seller ignored me last time it was for sale when i enquired about the provenance.
it's very pretty, but given he had it up for 90k to start with this time around i can't see him being rational in a price discussion based on fact.
ps - yorky, have you decided whether to sell or keep the evo?

Wouldn't know a genuine tii if I fell over one, all I know is it looks tiny compared to what it's usually parked against and looks amazingly delicate. Some lovely details. I'm guessing the fact it doesn't have original seats etc would enforce the not the real deal suggestion. Just a lovely looking little thing. To be squashed in.A 'What Car' post with a slight difference....
Just bought a house in the UK and in the process of repatriating the family while I take up residence in Saudi. Comments on this in a different thread please!
Looking to buy a car in the UK, primarily for the wife/school run etc but will be used by me monthly when I go back for a long weekend every month. She is a petrolhead and not wanting anything bland.
I have about 40k GBP to spend.
Criteria:
Power
4 doors
Boot space
Power
Comfort-ish
Toys - keyless start/SatNav/etc
Power
I'm thinking about an Audi C6 RS6 estate with a stage 2 to 750BHP/1000nM, or an M5 estate similarly tuned. I might be a bit young for a Merc.
A Rangie might be a bit big, I don't think I want to have the standard 'Chelsea Tractor' label.
Anything I have missed?

there's very little to compete against those two really, the RR isn't in the same category.
where's the house? is the size limitation due to the roads?
only things i can thing of are alpina b7 [ALL the toys and the pace, but a big bugger] or a quattroporte,
stick with the v10. just make sure yiou get a good warranty, can't see your mrs being happy with a tuned v10 breaking down every time she wasn't to dash to the shops.
PS - houston not a goer in the end then?

Houston has this thing called 'Tax' that means you pay for people that don't want to work, for stuff you don't need, and then get shot at. It's a real bummer. The UK has it too but not if you meet the "Overseas resident' criteria
Saudi has a 45% salary uplift before you get shot at. No brainer really.
