so what you're saying is that the tundra is the sensible option? good good.
I would say yes.

Only issue with the Tundras is the history as they're all imports, make sure you don't get a duff one! Like jacked up ones with noisy road going tyres!

That's the most expensive (Bar one chancer or typo at 35k) 2008 Escape on dubizzle.

At 24k it could be worth a look though.

I'd be very careful on that Escape... it's on a P registration plate which means that it's only just been registered to the owner.... smells like someone purchased a nail and wants rid

the actual prospect of owing an escape fills me with dread. ending up with something sensible is gonna be hard.

Ours were 07's. Munch through tires, could not get them to go in a straight line, ate propshafts every 60k, added to Al Nabooda servicing back up, massive pain. Most expensive servicing for a company car that we had apart from the F150 FX4.
I have one, a 2008 V6. Bought at 100k Km's now on 140k Km's. My experience has been much better. Pretty cheap to run as servicing is cheap enough at AAA. Did suffer the propshaft problem but AAA are now doing a fix for this by replacing and balancing the bearing to the propshaft (<2000aed) rather than VW's only fix which is a new propshaft (5000aed). This usually needs doing every 100,000km's so no worse than the expense of a timing belt, which the Toerags don't have. Tyres 600aed per corner at MSW, which last fine.

They're supposed to be decent off road but I've not done much as it's a family car. Wife loves it as it's a very solid feeling car and she feels safe driving it. The V6 is a decent motor but does sometimes have to drop a cog or two for better acceleration, quick enough though for a daily driver. Only other thing worth mentioning is to look out for a car with the dual zone climate rather than basic AC as I think they have stronger AC compressors which means the AC is more powerful. They're very good value used compared to their peers when new.

Which tyres? They just quoted AED 4,400 for a set of Michelins for my Touareg.

Thanks

600 a corner is a great price.
I have to put 4 new ones on the Cayenne this month for re-registration.

275/40/ZR20

Best I can find is 3600aed for 4 2014 Pirellis from the large tyre place on Umm Suqeim

That sounds good considering the size. Is it the place with the huge Pirelli sign outside? If so, I had a good quote from them for my other car.
