anyway - chilli, you need some senses knocked in for admiring the caddy!
I know, I know...I just saw a rather nice cockpit and a 0-100 time of 3.9 secs.

Hahahahaha, Samaj changes his cars and rims as many times as you and I change our "rods".

would i be allowed [or get away with] to have a trailered car parked in an apartment underground space? my friend has 2 cars and he says that isn't an issue, but would this?

Only one way to find out!!!!!!

A bet there a few dirt bikes / quad bikes / jet skis etc parked on trailers, so it shouldn't be a problem. Just dress as a local and it will be fine.

it was that yellow porsche you posted on t'other forum that got me thinking ian. track cars seem very cheap out here [is that one still for sale do you know, the pic doesn't load for me now so assume you pulled it?].

commuter/dune basher/trailer puller, a track car and a bunch of track days would be less than what i was planning to spend on an import. man maths and man logic says this it's a sensible suggestion jester

all car choices subject to change at short notice. ooooh, shiny!

yes i do. that would go very nicely at the price intimated. i had a quick peek at NFS [?] motorsport's website last night, do you know the name of the mechanic who knows the owner?

i really should come down the track next time you guys are about and get an idea of costs etc. i am a st hot race driver so i can assume position of mobile chicane whilst learning. a race ready car would be too much, but this porsche is too good a sales pitch on looks alone.

Its very hard when you first come out here and you see the metal you can get for your $$$ and you start twitching violently at the thought of having these cars, but to be honest and a word of warning - you need hellish deep pockets to run/maintain these "older" cars you are looking at, plus a shed load of patience - the support that you can get in the UK is non exitant here (well not completely, but come at a price, a big price).

My advice - settle in first, get used to Dubai and the UAE - its pro's and cons and once setled and comfortable, then take the plunge (also a good idea to wait for cooler weather).

Also, wait until your probation period is over and you are confirmed as a full time Employee of the Company (still no guarantee, but its somewhat more secure). You only have to pi$$ off the wrong person and you are "outa here"

mmmmm lick , i'm only a million dhs short!

sound advice yorky [and cost efficient, you tight yorkshire git wink] but one i'll likely ignore than heed. can't see a great deal i like amongst the modern selection.

probation isn't a worry, no locals at work to ps off helps wink

i can spanner far far better than i can throw a car round a track, patience for parts would be ok if it isn't my only car.

i understand that fine looking yellow pork is up for 45k. with a similarly priced wrangler or something like this

http://www.dubaipetrolheads.com/cars-for-salewante...

on daily duties, the outlay is very reasonable imo.

being confined to taxis is already grating, emsman says he wants an SL-Gay so i think RAK should be done in the next week or two.

Joe is the guy at NFS to speak to about the Porsche. If you have 30 minutes go and speak to Jason at a2b MotorSport and Garage. He will tell you all you need to know about track cars, race cars and track days.

You could always get a BMW 120d race car....

Hands off...I'm trying to fight the urge to go and see it tomorrow. This car has passed me on SZR before and it makes an epic sound!

Dunno, the idea was that I'd sell the Jeep too and spend upto 150k on something 'nice'.

But...I keep avoiding the calls of people trying to buy the Jeep so I have decided to keep it and to get into some desert driving next winter - I've been here two years and Al Barsha is about as far off road as I get!

I'd like something fast and manual, around 100k. That M3 is calling me, but a decent E39 M5 or 996 would be perfect. There was a low mile M5 for sale when I bought the Mustang and I regularly flail myself for bottling out.

How's your search going?
