Oh well, looks like redundancy rears it's ugly head aagin. Anyone need their Cars washed, or their ironing done?
Actually, that's a brilliant idea. I could establish a laundry service, pop round and pick it up myself, and just add it in with my stuff at home. I doubt the maid would notice.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, sorry to hear this. You have been there a while have you not, so should get a decent pay-out until a new position becomes available.
In all fairness to your suggested alternate "income source" - I have heard that these "dry cleaners' make some decent cash with little capital investment needed.

Well, not really. It's not like the UK where they look after you! I'll get enough to keep me going to Barracuda for a month or so!
I've got several busioness plans which I think would be good earners......but that's generally where they come to an end!
Might be worthwhile hanging around outisde the Dubai ladies club...think there's much demand for a 40 year old, fat, receeding ex-employee??!!

Sorry to hear that Chilli. If it's any consolation, life really is much better on the outside (just not better paid, unfortunately).

Cheers gents...I've got a few weeks at least yet!
Matt, going to NZ is really the wrong time ATM...The Mrs is JUST getting her things going now, so to leave after her going through hell for six months would be criminal!!
Bert, that would be great, many thanks.

I think the chances of finding a similar job (and pay) slim to none in this environment, so looking to do anything else really. Funny, as I left the UK as I was bored of working in Banking.....and I find myself back in the same kind of job! Good luck.

Good luck. Not me, the missus, but at the moment it's all rumours and conjecture which is probably even worse than outright knowing!

Chilli, please change your profile pic, I clicked on your profile to see what you do and got an eyefull, and I'm at work! (git).
I have a guy who works for PWC moving in in 2 weeks, want me to ask for you?...what do you do in the financial sector btw!? haha
I want to set up a business selling ice-creams from a van, apparently very lucrative and nobody in Qatar doing it yet (but I dont have the stones to quit my job and go for it).
