Mrs C is pregnant. No idea how...... it just happened. We are so clueless about kids unreal. Both 40 and treat our dogs like children.
Any ideas? Oh, did I mention I'm out of work. What the social like round here?!

Congratulations! I too came to the party late, well into my 40's before the arrival of my little girl who's now 2. The only advice I give is to others who ask is simply to ignore everyones advice, and there will be lots of it! You'll work it out, somehow the instruction manual is hardwired.
It will be an incredible ride, scary, unpredictable but nothing else comes close to giving you a sense of real joy - though that ride in the GT3RS around the N'Ring might come close...
Best of luck!

Congrats Chilli. Don't worry, you make it up as you go along and it turns out fine.
On a serious note, do you still have medical cover and does it cover all maternity costs? Costs here can be crippling esp if God forbid there are any complications.

Congrats to both of you. Not got any myself, but the best solution I've thought of for keeping track of my nephew was to slip an RFID tag into wabbit so I could keep track of the little chap. Mentioned the idea to sis and she's never let me babysit again..

Congrats. Are you married? Does your certificate of marriage have an abundance of stamps from the Ministry of funny walks? I wiil have now!! You thought bureaucracy was bad up to this point...just wait 'till you have to register a birth It's like applying for a permit to export nuclear material to Iran. Oh, and apply for a place at a school now, before its too late

You are doomed mate; I'm not even five months in and I'm resigned to a life covered in s t and snot! (wouldn't change it for the world though!)

Cheers gents. Yeah, we are married. The certificate has a million stamps and I believe some kind of wax stamp on it too. Our office boy took it to be attested and even though it had all the embassy stamps on it, they didn't believe it. He came back saying how sorry he was, so I went back with him. They took one look at me and signed it off. Dick heads. Snot and s t? Glad I got that maid now. Thing is, Mrs C won't trust her to take the dogs out so she's got no chance with Nicky Jnr.
