I know Poland well (Missus is Polish).
A week in Krakow is probably stretching it as Shirt says. However, Zakopane is a two hour drive away up in the Tatra Mountains. A lovely spot to relax. Lush forests, fresh air, scenic mountain views and great food / beer!

Krakow would be integrated into the Berlin visit, that was our thinking.

I'm typing this from a lovely little resort in southern Turkey. I'd recommend Istanbul and then a flight south to the coast but July and Aug are hot and humid in the city and the coast is full of fat, badly tattooed, british mongs in the summer. Couple of things on my mind: 1. I am loving 'normal' weather - I swam in the sea during a thunderstorm earlier and it was just epic. 2. I hate, literally hate, poor Englanders. I am a massive snob in that regard, but f k me there are some chavetastic mouth breathers posing as tourists these days. Not in the place I'm staying, obviously, but I encountered some in a local town today taking photos of Maccy Ds, drinking beer with their shirts off at 11am and eating fried breakfasts.

What a charmingly honest view of the Brits abroad! Surely you forgot to add- 'british' lager (carlberg) in a British pub, reading a British paper, and interacting with the locals only after far too much sun and beer- ie, having a fight for looking at your 'bird' etc etc.

I agree Hitch, even at 18-19 when we went on a lads holiday to some Greek s thole I was horrified at the English! In other news Japan could be a go!

Yep was the thread in photography section that got me thinking seriously about it.
Imagine the gadgets I could come home with!

Forgot to mention to dxbtiger - but when I was there, in mid November so pretty chilly, the girls were wearing next to feck all! I could not keep my eyes off some of the sights - stiffy-tastic.

For my sins I have a week in Majorca and 2 weeks in the UK to look forward to. It's the price of not keeping it in my pants. I should be going to the Maldives or Hawaii but the cost of adding 2 kids to my party means I'm stuck with the b kserics Islands.
