It's a Abu Dhabi reqistered company but I live in Dubai so the bank, car etc are in dubai. I have a HSBC account in the UK so got one here, you can link link the two accounts together move money instantly found it quite hepful.

When i opened the bank account and car etc I lived in a hotel so just used the work address, nothing stopping you coming to Dubai to open accounts or hire a car.

Jason
Same as me. HSBC gave me an account without Visa as I pleaded I had HSBC accounts in UK & HK which I had to transfer monies to on a regular basis - they listened and I got it. This was in 2005 though.

The Global access to link all your HSBC accounts is awesome and as Jason said, moving money is instantly credited to the account it was moved too.

I am gettingthe stuff ready for the bank account, NOC letter, Salary Certificate. I wish i could open an account using my entry Visa.
My bank opened my account using a letter from my employer stating that my residence permit was under process. It's bending the rules but it meant that I had a bank account as soon as I arrived.

Often the banks will not give you a normal account but I managed to get a "savings" account when I first came out.
It only had a debit card but was still visa and could use an ATM.

Will find out later, but ADCB have been helpful so far as my employer is on there approved list. They only need to see one salary payment from my employer to give me a Auto Loan and a credit card!

Yeah im renting too till at least early next year, probably longer to be fair.

The air miles are handy on the credit cards, not applied yet still deciding if to bother or not.

Typically my flat isnt ready tomorrow as should be and my company has issued my housing allowance as of tomorrow so im homeless from tomorrow lol, need to find a cheap hotel!!

Well done on the account!

Is that a company rate for the hotel? My companies paying 410dhs a night in a Rotana for me but when I try and get the room its 1050dhs per night!!!

The rate is the advanced rate bookable online via my UK Debit Card (my backup plan if im homeless).

399dhs per night local money for the basic room.

House hunting on Thursday hopefully.
