Dan,

you have been through a lot of this heart-ache in the past with the "blue beastie" in terms of registration and getting it on the DA track.

Why go through all this again?
The Blue was never meant to be a road registered car so it was a big ask to think that it could be. I never even bothered trying.

The trouble there was with the DA specifying a car doing their (now failed) Auto-X thingy had to be road registered. And then for Track days it needed lights and covered wheels. 2 separate issues.

I'll look at registering kit cars and see where it takes me....

The ATCUAE are looking at kit car registration so they may be worth a call

Now that is very encouraging, not just for classics and kits but for tuning and modified cars too.

At last the Max Power guys can come out of the closet....

the blue beastie was an open wheeled formula car. that never had a chance of being road legal, same as the caged evo. the ultima is possible.

the plates issue is not clear cut, you get plates for a race car when you register it correctly. the only 'drive to race' plates i've heard of is for the likes of the desert challenge cars when they are between stages.

speak to dave, he is building a factory five cobra - http://www.dubaipetrolheads.com/profile/?u=987

i'd also speak to arnie at NFS, he can get [nudge, wink] anything registered.

The RTA got back to me.

Surprisingly by someone who showed a bit of interest; asked what manufacturer and what was going to power it.

We'll see...

i wouldn't bother with the mondial. the rear subframe looks very heavy and easily surpassed in terms of handling. alfa v6 on throttle bodies and sports exhaust would be my choice of soundtrack.

most kits look like just that, a kit. this one lookes very well thought out with some excellent detailing.
