The Figo is, surprisingly, quite good fun. I only drive about 1km to work so the overall change in experience is not overwhelming; its nice to have a proper manual 'box to stir upp, and the art of keeping the motor singing, speed up and generally moving along without bogging down is very gokart-esq. I spend most of the journey on 2 wheels smile

I'm juggling a few things at the moment so not looked too hard into buying the kit. Had a bit of a set-back when was told that all the LS7s at DA had gone and there is the slight possibility of a relocation to QLD, the UK or USA for me so don't want to commit until I know which side to put the steering wheel smile

I do have my eye on the VFR400 on Dubizz at the moment though, for after the summer....

That's more like it Dan. If it is the one posted as V F R 400 then thr front forks look in very poor condition.

you moved offices?

agree on the fun that can be had in a manual rental. US would be a good move if you're planning an ultima, has to be the best country for car building resources and parts.

Guys,

The Ultima GTR can be registered in Dubai with regular plates now. The only issue is the emissions test if you're running a carburated engine as I am. In that case it's just a matter of finding the "right" person to test the car each year. Ahem. Ultima is now in the RTA database, so no longer an issue.

Cooling of the cockpit is the only issue anytime it hits 35 degrees or more outside here in Dubai. I've insulated the pipes, and the cockpit. Added high performance twin a\c fans and the Ultima vent kit. Air Conditioning is always ice cold, but the cockpit slowly heats up in the summer. My guess is the choice of black color is the main culprit now as I can drive it quite comfortably after dark in the summer months. Engine cooling is NOT an issue at all.

Hope this helps albeit a wee bit late!

There are 2 GTRs in Dubai. One black and one white....

Factory built ultima's can be fully road registered in dubai. Umair who built the white one here got it fully road registered but that was down to a "Who you know" approach.

Hey DXBGTR, a friend of mine saw your black GTR and put a pic of it on her Instagram account. I was able to tell her what she saw! You have a UK flag on the front wing right? How's she running out there? AC more manageable now?

Saw this yesterday up at Motor City - not sure if still owned by a PH'er but looked great.
