I thought the course was pretty good, wasn't too fond of the section through Al Quoz (I nearly got brained by a Jingly bus who decided to ignore the traffic control) and I thought the final 15km out the back of Nad Al Sheba were a little boring but given how long I have(n't) been cycling for I was happy with 3h 42m

Taking this slightly off-topic (not about Qudra Loop, but still about biking) does anyone have a Mountain Bike and head to Showka or the new trails up Hatta? I am just building (getting Cycle Hub to build) a new mouton bike for me and want to head out with someone who can show me around.

Thanks,

Nearly killed my Mrs yesterday. She suggested a bike ride to Bab al Shams so took her around the loop. She gave up when we got to Bab Al Shams so I continued on, had to collect the car and pick her up. By the time I'd got back she's found a bar and ordered dinner…

Met this friendly fella.

And a shot of my bike.

Time for a thread revival me thinks.

I seem to have been bitten by the riding bug quite hard as I am doing 26km 2/3 times a week before work and either the stick Friday and Saturday or the loop on Friday (down to 1h 43m). Throw in the odd Tuesday at Yas and / or Wednesday at the Autodrome my wife has become a MAMIL widow.

I have also competed in 1 round of the EKRCC loop time trail, rode in the NAS 70km road race and thinking of doing the 1 hour Jebil Jais challenge.

Thinking of entering the Spinneys ride in December but I might not be here though.

Heading back to the UK for 2 weeks and so I have ordered some more cycling gear from Wiggle / Merlin / Amazon (wife will not be overly impressed....).

I know that Jason90 is out on his bike regularly, anybody else out and about?

I've not been not the Al Quadra loop since New Years Eve, but I'm at Yas most weeks.

Throughout the summer months I've been running rather than cycling at Yas however as I find I need those water stops every 2km to run in the heat and so like to take advantage of them!

Still out regularly, as you know! See you most Friday's at Al Qudra.

Like to do the CSD 85km, and then the coffee run on Saturdays.

Also Autodrome on a Wednesday night - although the evenings seem much hotter than the early doors at AQ.

So who has expressed an interest in doing the potential Dubai 24hr bike race event? I have (either as a team or solo if needed....).

And I am looking to buy a second bike, budget is ~AED 3,500.

What bike you looking for Ian? I have one sat at home in Dubai doing nothing (it has done nothing for 18 months!).

Felt I think is the brand of the bike.

I am looking for a road bike Steve. When are you in Dubai next Steve? (I am back for the 24hr race).

Send me an e-mail if you like with any details you have and the price?

Although summer is here, who has entered the NASST 70km road race (16th or 17th June) and the 161km summer solstice event (24th June)? You may have guessed from my question, that yes I have entered both event.
