Can I import a car over 5 yrs old to Qatar from another GCC?

Can I import a car from another GCC country to Qatar? I have seen a Bentley in Bahrain which is a 1990 model.

I understand importing cars outside of 5 yrs old is not possible.

Jinkster,

The whole 5 year thing never came into force. You can import whatever you want. Be prepared to be a 5% import duty though. So get a value placed on your car of something low/believeable. They will take the cost of the vehicle, add the shipping cost and then take 5% of the total.

Luke, from what i understand you can import any car into the UAE but I understand Qatar is different.

Can anyone in Qatar verify the rules on import of cars from another GCC country where over 5 years old?

The internet appears undecided, but in favour of having to be less than 5yrs old.
