Absolutely delighted.... I don't really think Frankie's comparing Apples with Apples either... this "watching TV over VPN" stuff never works properly, everyone I know who's tried it has given up and the simplicity of having a sky style TV guide etc etc is well worth the cost.
Watching TV through a VPN for about 5 years, works a treat. Appreciate the box with remote is more convenient just seems a bit pricey.

Will wait until October for mine as I am back working in Oman and sorting stuff out that my lad will need at uni at the weekends and I should be cycling from this Saturday.

Just received this via email.

Dear UKTV client,

Yesterday we experienced an unforseen issue in the UAE that we managed to get round so that you could watch live UKTV, however we have had to change back those settings this evening to the original format.
The server will be down temporarily.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and this will be back online as soon as possible.

Kindest Regards

Working fine through VPN! wink

  • Turns off Smug bd mode

That is the problem with moody services, you've got no come back if they stop.

Hope it sorts itself though, loads of people have paid into it.

I sent them an email, here is their response :-

Unfortunately yesterday, you were experiencing a local internet issue, our service has been and is running at 100%

You may find this happens on occasions due to this being totally reliable on the internet.

If we have genuine issues with our service you are notified immediately by either email, sms, on screen or on www..co/

It also happened earlier yesterday around 3pm for around 20 minutes and the internet totally went off for 3 minutes.

If you would like to test your actual internet speed from your property to the server in Europe please do so here: http://v-play.us/speedtest/
ENDQUOTE

I've no idea where the speed test I did was to but maybe not Europe so I will use the v-play one next time.

More than welcome to pop round my gaff and look at the setup I use young Dickie.

Was watching the live feed from the Revival festival all weekend (much to the misses annoyance)was Ace! On the bucket list.

If you're about over the long weekend then I'll be at my place in Meadows (M2, S14, V19) or failing that if all involved fancy a pint at some point we could all meet and I'll bring them along?

Anyone facing problems with UKTV this afternoon ? Mine is buffering like mad and freezing. Internet at 117Mbps so can't be that.

Mine is becoming increasingly unreliable. The menu selection no longer works, it's buffering, freezing and occasionally switching off on its own.

Seems the honeymoon period is over.

Mine was playing up yesterday as well... I wonder if they've got to the stage where they've sold too many boxes here for the internet pipe to cope.

Here's hoping they fix it, and soon!
